Arrive in the ticket counter line two hours before the flight. Sometimes it takes a long time to get through that and the security screening. I've missed flights because it took too long. Be there at 3 PM
2 :
If you're standing in the check-in line by 4PM you should't have any problems.
3 :
It used to be 2 hours for international flights but I think it's a good idea for domestic flights too due to increased security.
4 :
At least 90 minutes before the scheduled flight.
5 :
I've gotten away with being at the airport about 35 minutes early for a domestic flight, but I would recommend 60 minutes. If you are checking luggage, it must be there no less than 30 minutes before your flight.

I would suggest 90 minutes to 2 hours prior to your flight. I've stood in line at the ticket counter for 1 hour just to get my boarding pass (the flight I was taking was accomodating passengers of another airline who's flight was canceled due to mechanical issues). There is no way I'd wait until 30 minutes prior to my flight before I arrived at the airport. It's always best to have extra time rather than not enough. http://waittime.tsa.dhs.gov/index.html This is a link to the TSA's website with aprox waiting times based on time of day and day of week. It's a great resource, however, keep in mind that all times are aproxmates and you wait time may be longer.

I'm sure they will go broke from losing a couple pesos. Their sales of papaya juice and Jesus candles will definitely suffer though. Dumb.

No, it won't effect us and we have not shot ourselves in the foot again. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is the 5th busiest airport in the US, with more demands by customers for flights by large airlines like United Airlines, Delta Airlines, American Airlines, and especially US Airways. Mexico City is all but one of the smallest routes out of Phoenix. It's really not an important one. I honestly do not know where you got that statement from, but its obviously a lie, Aero Mexico Serves flight from Mexico City and other parts of Mexico, daily. The busiest routes out of Phoenix are Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, Chicago, Salt Lake City, Atlanta, Seattle, Dallas, Minneapolis, etc. Sky Harbor isn't big on International travel either, we only have British Airways, Air Canada, Aero Mexico, WestJet, and the coming of Emirates in the near future. Airlines such as Virgin America, and Air France/ KLM are looking to bring service to Phoenix because we are a very busy airport with high demands in air travel requiring more airlines to more cities and more countries. Hope This Helped! :)

What kind of phobia do you have. Without knowing, we can't make any recommendations.
2 :
sorry. i have no freaking idea what your talking about.
3 :
sleeping pills? dont know if i should recommend sleeping pills though, bc you'll be on a plane. Mp4 player?
4 :
taking off is the only bad part really it take about two or three minutes and then you dont know anything so read a book and hold on there nothing to it...
5 :
Ask your Physician for an Rx of Ativan...works wonders.
6 :
once you take off, get plastered on drugs.
7 :
The most dangerous part of your journey by far will be the commute to the Airport. Once you get to the Airport and board your flight you will be much safer than you were on your way there.
8 :
get knocked out by your friends like Mr. T! lol.
9 :
the best thing to do is get shit faced the night before the flight, with the hangover during the flight, and sleep during the flight

Which are you afraid of, Honolulu or Phoenix? I'm guessing Phoenix since that's your destination. Bring your ipod and listen to music during the flight. Bring a good book and do some reading. Keep your mind occupied so you don't have to think too much about how horrible it's going to be in Phoenix. Plan indoor activities out of the heat and away from any potential street crime. Don't watch the sky at night while you're there. You might see UFO's which are scary. Focus on your return to Honolulu. Good luck.

What to do on overnight flight

What to do on overnight flight?
I just booked an overnight flight for my trip to Florida because it was a lot cheaper. The flight is from Phoenix to Atlanta on Delta. My iPod just broke, so I can look into getting another one but what do people do on an overnight flight? By the way I am a very light sleeper so that's why I won't be able to just sleep...

Get some cheap earphones and watch the tv ? :)
3 :
Do what you can. Wear comfortable shoes and pants so you can relax, and try to read or listen to quiet music. It's a very long time to sit up watching movies or listening to death metal, and you will arrive very tired if you don't try to rest.
4 :
read a book, drink, dont go to bed the night before so sleeping is easier on the plane, do paperwork / schoolwork, eat a weed brownie. other than that theres not too much else you can do on a plane.
5 :
I can't sleep on flights either, just had an overnight flight from Calgary to Amsterdam. I pretty much watched movies, listened to music and read. Tried to get as many "cat naps" in as possible, every 10 minutes I could rest my eyes was welcome. There really is no best way to handle it just make sure you have enough to keep you occupied. * Also, put on some clean socks before you leave for the airport. You can kick you shoes off on the plane it's way more comfortable, but just be courteous and make sure your feet don't stink.

I don't think there'll be TV on the domestic flight. I'd read a book. Or the in-flight mag. But, if you do not want to disturb your neighbor try to do what you do when you can't sleep at home. Count sheep? Count backwards from 300 by threes? Do the same. Even if you can't fall asleep you'll have something to do. Also, try daydreaming. Seriously! Think of what you'll do once you reach Atlanta. I am generally a good sleeper. But, if I can't sleep I do the above.
7 :
get first class.... I sleep so much better in first rather than Coach. And I have trouble getting to sleep.

I can't sleep on planes either and I have a very long international flight coming up. I'm bringing my iPod and laptop plus some puzzle books. I have a lot of files on my laptop that need to be cleaned up and that always makes me drowsy. Yes, my seat loight will be on the entire flight but then my seat mate is also my travel companion so there's nothing to worry about.
