Does the Phoenix rise from the ashes only in mythology?
I Rise In midst of darkness there was unseen light eyes no longer blind hands no longer tied bowed head now lifted unfettered from shackles I rise I rise, damn it not with whimper but roar shoulders once slumped now broadly thrust back proudly carrying hope on one and determination on the other I rise I rise, damn it a choice I've made this pen my declaration to you it's true from the ashes the Phoenix did rise his flight I'll make mine.

Very good! One of my favorite things Jerry Stiller said on Seinfeld or King of Queens I can't remember which, was, "LIKE A PHOENIX, RISING OUT OF ARIZONA!!!" I LMAO every time I think about that!

Only in mythology -I surely think not. Thanks for this inspiring poem. Not only can the Phoenix continue to rise from the ashes to this day, but the Dragon can take flight as well. This touched me on a personal level, ma -and I appreciate it.

It rises from it's own ashes only in mythology if your poem is a myth. And since it is definitely a good here and now tangible poem, it is surely no myth, so yes, the bird known as ma has risen from it's ashes to take her place with the poets of Mars, who are also not mythical.
